3 Tips for New York singles

I love New York more than anything. But let’s be real. When it comes to New Yorker’s, single life is often highly dysfunctional.

For most New Yorkers, its not intentional, it’s just a product of living in this large, busy city. But if one wishes to find dating success in the city that never sleeps, the following mistakes must be avoided.

1. Working too much.

I get it. Surviving financially in New York is challenging. To say that life is a rat race around this town is an understatement. But no matter how ambitious you are, what will it all mean if you have nobody to share it with one day? Save some of that ambition, and use it in your relationship life as well.

2. Not being flexible enough.

Its good to be busy. But being busy without the ability to be flexible is not a good thing. Suppose you take yoga every Tuesday and Thursday, but a cute guy asks you out, and the only days he is free for a whole week is Tuesday or Thursday. Would it really kill you to miss one yoga class for the potential of love? Being adaptable will go a long way towards finding yourself in a happy relationship.

3. Acting like an elitist.

I can’t even count how many times I met a New Yorker, who refused to date someone that lives outside of Manhattan, even if that person is only a 15 to 30 minute subway ride away. You never know where you will find that special someone, and eliminating someone special based on where they live is a big, and common mistake. Open your horizons and give every borough a chance!
