3 Spring 2012 Fashion Trends from the Runway for Yoga Class

New York Fashion Week is just about to wrap up its February run where designers premiere their collections for next Fall/Winter 2012 - and probably are in need of some yoga time themselves.  Rather than working on the future, here's a look at the present.  In other words, how current spring trends are making their way off the runway and into yoga studios.

1. Play the Edge.  Asymmetrical shapes and defined silhouettes have replaced the more flirty, flowy styles – a perfect fit for yoga class where it is important for students to wear form-fitting clothes so that instructors can make sure they are in proper alignment.  Sam & Veda embraced this trend with their sleek Melia jacket.

2. Be Bold & Bright.  Designers, including Electric Yoga's own, Michelle Bohbot, have incorporated popping hues of oranges and pinks to energize her collection of active wear.

3. Sheer to Stay.  Luckily, the sheer materials are sticking around for another season and are quite perfect for light layering essential for asana warm up/cool down periors and as easily convertible as a 'studio to street' look, a captured in meSheeky's Elle Poncho.
