3 SEC basketball permanent opponents; what it should and could look like

With Mike Slive announcing that the SEC will expand permanent conference opponents in basketball to three from one, I decided to take a crack at what those permanent opponents should or might look like when they're released by the league.

Some of the factors involved in my pairings were: rivalries, number of times played in the last 25 years, geography and in the case of the final spots simply best available pairings. You start with the teams with more of a history and work your way down to the newest additions to the league.

As you might imagine, much of the conference wants Kentucky. At least half the league reportedly submitted UK in their permanent opponent requests. That's a big home attendance coupled with national exposure. That's a no-brainer. Only two schools though will land the Wildcats.

The first team listed is the previously established permanent opponent which the SEC says it will not change. Two opponents will be added, as I’ve proposed below.
