Instead of making empty promises and resolutions that will soon be forgotten, begin your New Year with inspired energy and simple execution.
Re-Connect. Send a New Year’s well wish, note or helpful tip to forgotten leads, lost clients, prospects, etc. Now is a great time to reach out to people whom you’ve lost contact with. The New Year always comes with big dreams and plans. Ask how you can assist someone with their goals, collaborate on a project or share resources.
Re-Focus. Decide where your business is headed and what you need to get it there. Select one objective or goal to accomplish in the first quarter and break it down into daily or weekly tasks. Instead of being overwhelmed with what it will take to achieve your big dream, think about all of the little things in between that bring you closer to the prize. Remember, the little victories count just as much as the big ones. Commit to finishing what you start.
Review and Release. None of us are perfect, so instead of beating yourself up for what you didn’t do the past year, let it go. Pick one thing that you are not going to do this year, and let it go. Every tomorrow brings with it an opportunity to try again. You won’t always get it right, but the more you try, the better the results.
