The number one reason (or excuse) for not exercising or putting off your yoga practice is lack of time. But just like anything else that is important to you, planning and scheduling time for yoga is essential to staying consistent and deepening your practice. Here are 3 of the best yoga poses anyone can do in ten minutes or less to fully stretch, lengthen and rejuvenate the body each day. Who doesn't have ten minutes to move their body?
- Boat pose. Let’s face it; everybody wants the look of strong abdominals. In addition, the center, or core, influences every other part of your body, most importantly fighting off back pain. Boat is the best yoga pose to strengthen the abs and core. Working the core muscles is essential to longevity and a successful yoga practice. Learn how to do boat pose here.
- Downward Facing Dog is the most effective yoga pose that everyone can practice with results that will leave you craving more. Considered to be an anti-aging pose because of the inversion, downward dog really gets the blood flowing; which improves circulation and reduces stress at the same time. It also sculpts the arms, shoulders, calves, thighs, back and abdominals. What more could you ask for? Learn how to do downward facing dog here.
- Sun Salutations are a flowing series of 12 poses that help strengthen and increase flexibility from head to toe. The “salute to the sun” pose is used to warm the body up and tone the abdominal muscles. Downward facing dog is actually one of the 12 poses within a sun salutation. Practice at least 3 per day. See how a sun salutation is practiced through a video here.
