Amazon Studios, a division of Sony TV, made casting announcements over the last 2 weeks for three of the four main leads in a comedy pilot based on the 2009 smash movie Zombieland.
The original movie focused on four survivors of a zombie apocalypse--geeky Columbus (played by Jesse Eisenberg), his love interest Wichita (Emma Stone), her sister Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) and the ass-kicking Tallahassee(brilliantly portrayed by Woody Harrelson).
Although there has been no announcement yet for the show-running position of Tallahassee, the other three leads carried over from the movie have now been set.
Maiara Walsh, who has had roles in Desperate Housewives and Switched at Birth, will be taking over the small screen role of Wichita.
Tyler Ross, star of the breakout Sundance Film Festival dark comedy Milkshake is taking on the role of her romantic interest Columbus.
Newcomer Izabela Vidovic has been signed to portray Little Rock, the plucky younger sister of Wichita. Vidovic has done two other pilots, Fox’s Little Brother and Little In Common.
Also, Zombieland movie writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have agreed to return to write the pilot episode of the TV show.
Locally, you can find DVD and Blu-ray copies for purchase or rent at Showtime Video at 1745 Main Street in Longmont and the Video Station in Boulder.
