Touristlink.com uses social networking to connect travelers with local travel providers

Touristlink.com, a social network connecting travelers with local travel providers, announces new trip planning features set to launch in January of 2013. Travelers will be able to broadcast upcoming trip plans and then receive personalized offers from local travel businesses.

When a traveler publishes his trip plan it will be forwarded to relevant locals who can then pitch the best local travel deals that fit the travelers taste and interests. Travel business owners get a new marketing avenue by being able to pitch discounts on hotels, restaurant coupons, day trips, taxi services and more directly to interested travelers.

It's easy enough to find hotels online but travelers looking for transport and activities have fewer options. Touristlink aims to solve this problem by bridging the gap between local travel businesses offering these service and the travelers who need them. Simplicity is the key to Touristlink's new features that enable travelers to post a trip plan in seconds.

To get started travelers are only required to enter a location and a date or range of dates. Once a trip plan is posted local travel businesses are alerted and can contact the traveler personally with enticing offers.

One problem with social trip planning tools is that to be successful they require a certain amount of participation. Visitors don't want to see empty pages and providers making offers want some positive business response. Although the site launched a year ago the Touristlink team waited for over a year to get sufficient traction before announcing plans to launch this product.

Since the site launched in October 2011 it has signed up over 5,000 local travel businesses, many of whom are offering their own deals on the platform. In addition, according to rankings on Alexa.com the site is now one of the largest social networks for travel.

Touristlink is a social marketplace for travel that lets travelers get to know firsthand the local behind the tour they are planning or the small hotel they want to stay. Travelers tired of generic tour offerings can get unique trip ideas and offers direct from local providers as well as see reviews and recommendations of the same provider from other travelers.

Businesses benefit in that they get additional online exposure and can access a host of tools to help them engage customers on traditional social media platforms. It's a great resource whether you want to get off the beaten path or just want to plan your own trip. Touristlink is managed by GotripIndia and has versions in both Spanish (es.touristlink.com) and Portugese (Touristlink.com.br).

TravelFlyers.com launches new discount travel website

Travelers will soon have a new website to search for hotel specials and travel packages.

www.travelflyers.com, launching in February, is a new website where travel trade partners can list travel deals at no monthly cost, which in turn enables travelers to search for travel deals in an easy and simplified way.

Travellers have free use of the website and have the option to search for hotel deals, travel packages, last minute deals and also by means of using a map, displaying the three options available to them based on their geographical location.

"Our goal was to add value to both the traveler and the trade, providing the trade with a sustainable platform to constantly offer deals to travelers." said Bertus Floor, Managing Director of TravelFlyers.com. "The website took extensive research, planning and development over a period of 5 years and we are glad about the release of the beta website to the trade", Floor added. The official launch date for the public is set for February 1, 2013.

Travelers can also browse through accommodation for world events, like a Grand Prix or Olympic games, as well as for unique experiences. Once travelers have found the deal they want they can choose their options and securely book online immediately.

With all the travel websites currently available, the developers of TravelFlyers.com said they recognized the need in the market for a classifieds-type 'specials only' website that would give travelers the ability to browse both long and short term travel specials.

In the near future, the site has plans to add mobile version of the site, reviews, user galleries and videos.
