Today, February 8th, the NLL anounced the remaining 24 All-Stars. 3 of the announced players are from our very own Minnesota Swarm. The three players are Ryan Benesch, Callum Crawford and Jordan MacIntosh.
Benesch, who will make his 2nd All-Star game appearance, leads the team in goals (10) and shots on goal (25). Ryan has also posted 12 assists and 22 points. Four of Ryan's 10 goals have been power play goals, with 2 more of being short handed goals. Twenty-Five of his 30 shots have made contact on net. Benesch has also collected 8 ground balls.
Crawford, who will also make his 2nd All-Star game appearance, currently leads the Swarm in assists (16) and points (23). Callum has also put up 7 goals, including 3 power play goals, on 17 shots on goal. He has also gathered 15 ground balls and has forced 2 turnovers.
MacIntosh, who will make his 1st All-Star game appearance, was the 4th overall pick in this year's NLL Entry Draft. MacIntosh, who is putting up Rookie of the Year type numbers, will join fellow rookies Adam Jones, Kevin Crowley and Johnny Powless in the All-Star game. Through three games Jordan has posted 5 goals and 7 assists for a total of 12 points. One of his goals was a power play goal. Fourteen of Jordan's 17 shots have been on goal. He has also gathered 30 ground balls, while forcing 3 turnovers. MacIntosh is currently 4th in the NLL in faceoffs won, with 54. He has competed in 91 faceoffs and has a faceoff percentage of 59.3%.
The three Swarm stars will join teammate Andrew Suitor, who was announced as a starter on Monday, on the West All-Star team. The 2012 NLL All-Star game will take place on February 25th, in Buffalo,NY, at 6pm (CT). Fans can watch the game on ESPN3.com or on the NLL Network.
