3 Million Minutes of Exercise Challenge

There are only so many minutes in a day but each one counts toward a healthier lifestyle if you're moving. Although the Chicago Math and Science Academy is known for it's smarter than average student, starting Monday, November 18th at 11:00am they will start an initiative to get healthier by trying to obtain a school record 3 million minutes of exercise!

As recently named one of Chicago's top-rated "Level-1-Excellent" high schools by Chicago Public Schools, CMSA is taking students out of their desks and into the gym. Teachers will record the total number of minutes each student exercises daily using a simple excel spreadsheet. They will track any physical fitness – gym class, shooting hoops after school, playing a game of tag, riding bikes to school – whatever keeps them active!

What are schools in your community doing to be physically active?

*Please note that the kickoff event is not open to the public but rather a reminder to help schools and their communities set healthy goals and live better.
