3 killed in reality show crash: Accident happens in California

3 people have been killed in a reality show crash in California. On Feb. 10, Deadline reported that a helicopter crash in Calif. claimed the lives of 3 men on Sunday morning. The reality show -- believed to be an "Untitled Military Project" -- began filming on Saturday. It is believed that production on the show has been halted.

"We can confirm that a helicopter crash occurred this morning while shooting a new series for a cable network which resulted tragically in three fatalities. We are cooperating fully with the authorities. We extend our deepest sympathies to the families of those involved," Eyworks USA said in a statement.

The 3 killed in the reality show crash may have been crew members or new people picked up for the show. The helicopter accident occurred at the Polsa Rosa Ranch in Acton. Deadline reports that the 3 men were "thrown from the helicopter and pronounced dead at the scene." It is unknown what exactly happened that caused the aircraft to go down.

At this point in time, the FAA has confirmed that the helicopter was a Bell 206B Jet Ranger and that it was "severely damaged" in the accident (via mydesert.com). No further details were given.

The 3 killed in the reality show crash have not been named.
