Authorities have confirmed that 3 people were killed in a plane crash Friday. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported that the small plane, Cessna 310, departed from Okeechobee Thursday afternoon and it was headed to Bartow, ABC News reported on Feb. 16.
The FAA stated that they lost contact with the plane when it was close to Fort Pierce. On Friday, officials discovered the crash site in the marsh wetlands nearly 20 miles west of Vero Beach.
The dead bodies of the 3 victims were removed by a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter. As of now, little is known about the cause of the crash, but the National Transportation Safety Board is planning on conducting a thorough investigation.
The 3 killed in the plane crash were the only people on board. This story is developing and please be sure to return to this column for more updates as they are made available.
