3 killed in Denver shooting: Woman, 2 children killed in home

Police say 3 killed in Denver shooting. According to an article at USA Today, a woman and two children were killed today in a shooting in Denver. Both children were under ten, and authorities say another child was injured in the, which took place today at a home in northeast Denver. According to sources, the injured child is in critical condition at Denver Health Medical Center.

Police Major Crimes Cmdr. Ron Saunier says the Denver shooting appears to be an isolated incident. "Is there a mass killer or someone running around? At this time we don't believe so," he said.

Neighbor Debbie Martinez says a family of five, including two adults and three children, moved into the recently remodeled home about six months ago. "They seem like outgoing people. They didn't bother anybody," she said.

Jose Rojas, pastor at Providence Bible Church, gathered with members of his church on a nearby corner.
“This is the horror of the whole country. There are all these shootings," he said. "I think it's too much, too much to see innocent people being killed." Rojas added, "You pray for the community and you pray for the family."

The church plans to a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m.
