3 killed in Denver shooting: 2 children among the dead

3 people have been killed in a Denver shooting. On Feb. 6, the Denver Post reported that 2 children and 1 woman were shot dead in a home in the 4900 block of North Pearl Street. A third child was injured. According to police, this was an isolated incident and that they were not actively looking for a suspect.

According to neighbors, that home had been vacant for two years. One neighbor said that a family moved in about 3 months ago -- a man, woman, and their 3 children. Police are not releasing too many details at this point, but this certainly sounds like a homicide, not a murder suicide. Neighbors say that they heard a car "squealing" away after the gunshots were fired.

The 3 killed in the Denver shooting are believed to be related. At this point in time, it is presumed that the woman that was killed was the mother to the two children that were killed and the one child who was injured. Police were seeking a warrant and would not say whether or not a gun was found at the scene.

The children who were killed were reportedly both under the age of 11. The one injured child was listed in critical condition and did undergo surgery this morning according to the Denver Post. The names of the victims have not been released.

Neighbors are mourning the 3 killed in the Denver shooting. A candlelight vigil is being held tonight at 7 p.m..
