A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food also shows that organic ginger prevents the formation of prostaglandins, which are the molecules that tell the brain where pain is located. Because of organic gingers anti-nausea properties, it can help relieve nausea associated with chemotherapy.
Tip: Add about the equivalent of 1-inch fresh organic ginger to your favorite smoothies or juices. It also makes a great addition to tea. Try to do it daily.
According to a study published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, extract from organic papaya leaves have the ability to kill tumors and boost the immune system during cancer therapy.
Another study published in Cancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology shows that papain, an extract from organic papaya can protect from the painful and damaging side effects of radiation.
Tip: Add a cup of organic papaya slices to your favorite juice or smoothie. You can also slice them and eat them as a snack. Try to do at least 3 times a week.
This superstar spice is often called the “Indian solid gold” because of its eastern origins and potent healing properties. Organic turmeric contains ciruminoids, which have extremely strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. These are the properties that fight common cancer. Organic turmeric also inhibits the effects of COX-2, an enzyme that causes pain.
Tip: It is recommended to add it with healthy fats such as coconut oil and olive oil. It is also recommended in hot foods to get the full health benefits. Add 1 tsp to your favorite tea, smoothie, juice, soup or fish recipe.
