3 Doors Down and Daughtry double-down at Mohegan Sun

The second leg of the Daughtry and 3 Doors Down co-headline tour made a stop at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. on Sunday Feb. 17, 2013.

After opening act Aranda warmed up the crowd, 3 Doors Down took the stage and immediately got the crowd on their feet and cheering. The band kicked-off a solid16-song set with “Time of My Life”, from their 2011 album release. Their lively set also included the hits “Loser” and “Duck and Run” from the band's debut album, "The Better Life," as well as the newer songs “Goodbyes,” “There’s A Life” and “One Light” from the band's 2012 album, "The Greatest Hits."

3 Doors Down has a lot of energy and the huge stage gave them plenty of room to move around. Toward the end of the set, Chris Daughtry jumped onstage to join in the performance of the band’s biggest hit “Kryptonite.”

Next, Daughtry took the stage to close out the show with a 15-song set that included the songs “Renegade,” “Gone Too Soon,” and the smash hit "Home" from the band's self-titled debut album. The American Idol alumnus appeared more comfortable on the big stage than I have seen in previous years. Time and experience has given Daughtry greater ability to put on a dynamic performance, effortlessly shifting between ballads and hard rockin' songs.

Brad Arnold joined Daughtry onstage performing their version of Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight.” The band ended the show with “September” and “It’s Not Over.” Daughtry continues to tour in support of his 2011 album "Break The Spell."
