3 dead in courthouse shooting

After one year of battling a custody case, a gunman walked into a Delaware courthouse lobby and started shooting. In the end, three people are dead. This includes the shooter, said police.

Delaware State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack said the gunman and two women died. Sources are now speculating that one of the women was the killer’s estranged wife.

The officers who were firing back at the gunman suffered “non-life threatening injuries,” according to Shavack.

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden confirmed that the shooting was far from random but was instead motivated by a custody battle. Witnesses also stated that the gunman aimed his gun at the two women who were standing in the middle of the lobby.

Authorities had to evacuate the courthouse and search the building as a precaution, said ABC News.

“A news release from the state court administrator said the county courthouse would be closed Tuesday for the investigation and repairs.”
