If you are looking for great pieces to add to your fall wardrobe, look no further as Target rolls out its latest designer collaboration, September 15th. This time the honors go to hipster designer Phillip Lim.
Lim, a 2006 Fashion Fund finalist and the recipient of the 2007 CFDA Emerging Talent Award for Women’s Ready-to-Wear, debuted his 3.1 Phillip Lim line in 2005 during Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week.
The coveted 3.1 line, which features cutting edge women’s wear as well as menswear and accessories, quickly became a favorite of Hollywood, with celebrities as diverse as Jennifer Lopez, Kate Hudson and Kanye West donning 3.1 over the years.
According to the May 9th press release announcing the collaboration, the Target collection is exactly what the designer was looking for: “Since an early age, I’ve been intrigued by the idea of design evolution.” “One of the reasons I wanted to collaborate with Target is because I felt that together we could create a collection would inspire-one that is cool and chic, but still very accessible.
Making style accessible was also a priority for Target, as senior vice president of merchandising, Trish Adams explains: “Phillip is a designer we’ve had our eye on for years. His aesthetic is modern and sophisticated, and he shares Target’s vision of democratizing design. “
Target explains that the 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target line, will feature a “classic fall palette of neutral tones and prints, and will feature more than 100 items, with apparel ranging in price from $19.99 to $299.99 and accessories ranging from $19.99 to $59.99.” However, the majority of the items will be priced below $50.00. A bargain considering that the coveted, sky blue Corded T-shirt from 3.1’s spring line originally sold for $750.00 and is now on sale for…$450.00.
According to Adams, “This fall, 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target, will offer our guests a compelling reason to update their wardrobes, with an assortment of versatile, beautifully tailored must-haves for both women and men.”
