One of southern California's longest running festivals, the Long Beach Jazz Festival is celebration it's 27th year at the Rainbow Lagoon Park in Long Beach. The festival kicks off on August 9th through August 10th, 2014 from 11am to 10pm produced by Rainbow Promotions, LLC. This year's festival will include performances by Tyrese, Lalah Hathaway, Al Jarreau, Rachelle Ferrell and many more. Dubbed 'A Healthy Taste of Jazz,' there will a health and wellness pavilion for attendees to get an overall assessment of their mind, body and soul.
Going into it’s 27th year, the Long Beach Jazz Festival ensures a dynamic spectrum of music from contemporary jazz, neoclassical, gospel and even salsa with Asian influence by Hiroshima. The timeless music will consist of performances by 3 time Grammy award-winning Ramsey Lewis; baritone vocals by Will Downing; Chicago native Jesse Boykins III; British singer Daley in addition to Al Williams Jazz Society and more. Headlining the event on Saturday, August 9th is 'Fast & Furious' actor and singer Tyrese. On Sunday, August 10th, Lalah Hathaway will be headlining.
Founded in 1988, this year brings a new twist to the Long Beach Jazz Festival, as festival founder Al Williams recently retired leaving the role filled by his daughter Kim Benoit.
