26th Day Update! (Photos)

Here it is, only a day late, but here's my 26th day of the year update! Whew, I can't believe we are 26 days into this new year. I am proud of myself for all I've begun this year. As a recap from the 13th, I had finished one baby sweater, one crocheted dishcloth and one small make-up bag. So three items finished.

For this update, I only have one finished object. Don't yell! But I have started a bunch which I will finish before the next update. The one finished object I have is a reversible scarf. I made this out of quilting squares, the ones which all came in a set of 100. I love those sets, I only wished they didn't cost so much! But my girls were going to a lock-in and they asked as their charity project for them to bring either a hat or a scarf. So I made a scarf. It worked up quickly, I had it done in a matter of hours. One of my daughters helped with the ironing so it went faster.

As far as objects I'm working on, I have several. The first is the Hemlock Ring Blanket. You can find the pattern here. I began it working along with the knitters at Debbie Macomber's A Good Yarn Shop in Washington. Every Monday morning at ten (Pacific time), they meet to work on their knit-along project. I decided, even though I am thousands of miles away, I was going to participate. I am on row 40 out of roughly 70. It's a pattern where you can either stop at row 55 or you can repeat the pattern to row 70. The hardest part for me is my 10.5 DPN's are short. I have them on three, but will be moving them to four because I've got more to add! I'm hoping it'll make a nice size blanket, but it's hard to tell right now.

For my next project, I've been working on this since August, but put it down for several months and only recently picked it back up. It's a granny square blanket done in a blue and white yarn. Right now, I've finished two skeins out of four. It should be a nice size afghan when I'm done. This will be a gift!

Another project I thought I'd quickly finish in a day has taken me two and I'm still not done. It's suppose to be a crocheted hat, done in half-double crochet. Basically it becomes a square, you sew the sides together and boom, you have a hat. Well, I'm not sure exactly why it's not going as planned, but I'm going to have to double the pattern if I wish for it to fit my head! I am using up my stash, putting stripes into it. I hope to finish it soon, before it turns warm again!

The last one is a scarf I posted about before, making it for my church's knitting group. I finished one skein already. It was an easy project to take places last week when I was in the doctor's office for several days with the kids. I will do at least one more skein, maybe two. I have two left.

I believe that's all of my updates for this time. I should be posting completed pictures of the projects next time. Oh, one project I don't have a picture of is some mitts I'm doing for another knit-along on Google+. I'm not that far along on them, but I'm doing two at a time. I really need to finish at least two of these things before the end of January so I can start the new ones!
