The Capital District Garden and Flower Show is going on this weekend, March 21 – 23 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York. There you’ll experience spring a bit early this year with over 17,000 sq. ft. of landscaped gardens in full bloom, more than 100 floral arrangements, commercial vendors and seminars of all types.
From their website: “The first sign of spring in Upstate New York is the Capital District Garden & Flower Show. You'll see fully blooming flowers exploding with color. You'll hear the lullaby of trickling water from the many waterfalls and ponds. You'll smell the luscious fragrance from the first flowers of the season. We welcome you to enjoy the brilliant features of the 26th Annual Capital District Garden & Flower Show.”
Informative seminars on plant photography, garden design, orchid growing, flower arranging and many more subjects are scheduled throughout the day – even cooking demonstrations! There will be fun for the whole family!
The show is located at the 60,000 square foot McDonough Sports Complex on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College, 80 Vandenburgh Avenue (Route 4) Troy, New York 12180. The hours are Friday, March 21st 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday, March 22nd 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 23rd 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 at the gate with children 12 and under free.
