263 arrested in a gang sweep has rounded up some of the most notorious criminals within the MS-13 gang across the whole nation, leading to literally hundreds of arrests by FBI agents and nearly 800 grams of heroin nabbed this week, Web Pro News reported this Friday, Aug. 16. Out of the several hundred people brought into law enforcement custody, 263 of these were of MS-13 gang members.
The 263 arrested gang sweep roundup included felons with some serious charges on their records. Of the 263 placed under arrest, 158 were ranking members of the MS-13 gang, of which affiliates have been charged with kidnapping, robbery, assault, sexual assault, and even murder. Immigration violations and interference records were also brought to light in the nabbing, as numerous members in the gang are illegal immigrants from South and Central America.
Homeland Security and the FBI noted in its investigation that the nearly 800 grams of heroin weren’t the only drugs caught in the gang sweep and subsequent arrests. Members of this national and transnational MS-13 gang were also found carrying at least 28 illegal firearms, 10 kilos of marijuana, over $22,000, and 123 grams of cocaine.
The MS-13 gang, which has been recently called “one of the most dangerous transnational criminal gangs in the world today,” has no doubt taken this raid as a serious blow, and finds the U.S. nation that much safer with these gang members of the street.
The report concluded that the 263 arrested gang sweep story may not even cover the full extent of criminals captured in this week’s country-wide raid, as more gang members may also be found, depending on what information can be begotten from those already arrested.
