Local families in economic distress received the new shoes at Austin High School on December 19. Volunteers assisted each child with professional sizing and a free pair of new shoes courtesy of Rack Room Shoes.

The event, an annual initiative for Rack Room Shoes, received support from corporate partners including AT&T, coastal Securities, Halliburton, Perry Homes and Whataburger.

Joe Terrell, regional manager for Rack Room Shoes, said, ““The holiday season is about giving, and it is a true joy to be able to serve the Houston community in this way. We are lucky to have the opportunity and the resources to help make a positive impact in the areas in which we all live and work.”

Over the years, Rack Room Shoes has committed more than 15,000 pairs of shoes to Houston families through this charitable event.
