25th anniversary of the city of tampa black history celebration

On Feb15, 2013, the City of Tampa Black History Committee hosts the 25th annual City of Tampa Black History Celebration at the Tampa Convention Center at 11:00 am.

The event is free and open to the public with a free community expo in Ballroom A, prior to the main event. Parking is available at the Tampa Convention Center garage for a fee.

Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Council member Frank Reddick will be accompanied by emcee Ron Carter, news anchor for Channel 8 WFLA, as city dignitaries for the event.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the newly formed City of Tampa Gospel Choir under the directing of Mr. Steve Marshall as part of the main event. Also performing is nationally known, Isaac Ruffin and his band and Ardail Allen will provide singing and entertainment in Ballroom B of the Tampa Covention Center, 333 South Franklin Street.

The celebration will be cablecast live on both channels 615 Brighthouse and 15 Verizon on CTTV/City of Tampa Television.
