With 2013 wrapped up, it’s time to make some bold predictions for the New Year. What will 2014 hold for games? Will the Steam Box launch and conquer the PS4 and Xbox One? Will Nintendo’s Wii U make a comeback? Only time will tell. For now, here are twenty-five video game predictions for 2014.

Predictions

  • Resident Evil 7, or a reboot of the series, will be teased
  • Dragon Quest VII will get localized for Summer 2014
  • A new Nintendo IP will be revealed for the Wii U
  • The Xbox One and PS4 will not receive any sort of price cuts
  • The Wii U and PS Vita will get another price reduction
  • South Park: The Stick of Truth will get delayed from March to the Summer
  • By the end of 2014, the Xbox One will sell more units than PS4
  • Watch Dogs will be released sometime in the Summer
  • Bayonetta 2 will be released sometime in September
  • No new information for The Last Guardian will be announced
  • Super Smash Brothers will be teased as an early 2015 release
  • Support for the OUYA will die out
  • Gaikai will be delayed on the PS4 from Spring to Fall and will cost money to use
  • Final Fantasy XV will be teased as Winter 2015 release
  • Kingdom Hearts 3 will get a new trailer, but no date will be given
  • Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain will be teased as a Spring 2015 game
  • Halo 5 will not be released this year, but a Halo game of some sort will come out
  • The next Call of Duty will be a brand new IP and will be exclusive to the PS4 and Xbox One
  • A new Metroid will be revealed for 3DS
  • Hyrule Warriors will be the only Zelda game released this year and will launch in the Fall
  • Sony will revive several older franchises, like Crash Bandicoot, as PS4 games
  • There will be no new core Mega Man game this year
  • Rockstar will tease their next project after GTAV
  • No new core Mario games will come out this year
  • Assassin’s Creed V will launch in October and it’ll take in London
