Jack is back! Well, sort of, last week Sutherland was in talks with Fox about a their new drama pilot "Touch" from "Heroes" creator Tim Kring and yesterday it was official. Keifer Sutherland is back on Fox TV a year after the finale of "24" where he played kick ass government agent Jack Bauer. Fox has approved the pilot but as of yet hasn't ok'd the full blown series.
The "Touch" storyline will center on a father (Sutherland) who discovers that his autistic, mute son can predict events before they happen which sounds pretty awesome and a bit Hero's-ish, which is a good thing. Everyone misses "Heroes" and "24" will help pull fans from both shows to rally around this new TV project. Charles McDougas who directed the pilots for "The Chicago Code," "The Good Wife" and "Desperate Housewives" is in talks with "Touch" executives.
"Touch" will start production in late May- early June after Sutherland wraps up his Broadway debut in "That Championship Season". Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer) certainly hasn't been resting during the one year "24" break, he's currently on Broadway in this revival of Jason Miller's which centers around four members of a small town Catholic high school basketball team who get together with their coach to re-live their glory days. As the night progresses the long buried secrets and grudges come to the surface. Keifer's cast mates include: Jim Gaffigan, Chris Noth ("Sex and the City," "Farragut North", "The Good Wife") Jason Patric (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, "The Lost Boys") and Brian Cox.
Sutherland has just finished another project, that of a professional hitman for a new concept of shorts for internet audiences only on Hulu called "The Confession."
"24" fans are dying to see Keifer Sutherland on a weekly basis again and we hope that Fox pulls the trigger soon on the series.
