'24' movie...'Mr. & Mrs. Smith 2'...Hollywood buzz

Kiefer Sutherland in "24"

‘24’ to hit theatres

Listen up Jack Bauer fans, turns out the popular television show “24” could soon be hitting the big screen.  Reports say 20th Century Fox has hired Billy Ray (Flightplan) to write a screenplay for the top rated series, now in it’s eighth season.  The feature film would take Bauer’s character to Europe.  Sources say “24” star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland loves the initial script and is eager to transform the popular television show into a powerhouse feature film franchise.  No word when production could begin on a movie version of “24” since Fox has not yet ordered another season of the highly successful show, which would push back filming.

Christopher Nolan

Nolan to oversee ‘Superman’

The Man Of Steel franchise could soon see a major reboot, despite the release of “Superman Returns” almost four years ago.  Christopher Nolan, the man behind the rebirth of 'Batman,' has reportedly signed on to oversee the “resurrection” of Warner Brothers 'Superman' franchise.  Nolan, who recently directed “The Dark Knight” which grossed a billion dollars worldwide, will not direct ‘Superman’ rather oversee the new direction of the franchise.  In 2006 Bryan Singer directed the most recent installment “Superman Returns” which went on to gross nearly $400 million worldwide, but was considered a failure due to the films $270 million dollar budget.  No word when the newest movie may begin filming, however some speculate it could hit theatres as early as 2012.

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie in "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"

‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ reboot

It’s the film that destroyed the marriage of one of Hollywoods biggest power couples and created an even more powerful one.  Fans of the 2005 smash hit “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie may soon see the franchise rebooted.  Sources say 20th Century Fox is looking to revive the popular film without the star-studded couple who made it a success.  Sources say the new film would focus on a pair of younger agents who set up a fake marriage as covers after graduating the academy.  Fox reportedly discussed making a sequel with Pitt and Jolie, however sources say the deal would have involved a huge sum of money for the couple to reprise their roles.

They should make a "24" meets "Mr and Mrs Smith" film. And if Angie was in it, she would probably leave Brad for Kiefer. Kiefer is a bit of a bad boy (Just read his bio "Kiefer Sutherland: Living Dangerously" and you'll see), so I think he could keep up with Angelina's wild ways.
