Fans have spent years hoping that a “24” movie would come to theaters, and for a while it seemed it was going to happen. Unfortunately, according to reports out on March 13, the deal is dead. MSN shared the details.
The news that there will be no “24” movie comes from Antoine Fuqua, who was expected to direct the film. He shared that ultimately FOX, Kiefer Sutherland and he could not come to terms on the project. It sounds like it came down to an issue of scheduling on Sutherland's part, and his expectations for what he would be paid.
Fuqua says that if the “24” movie does happen, it won't be with his participation. Though fans have been aching for this movie to come together since “24” went off the air in 2010, it sounds like Sutherland's participation in other projects such as his show “Touch” means a "24" film simply is not going to pull together.
Are you disappointed there apparently won't be a “24” movie? Do you think FOX should work harder to come to terms with Kiefer Sutherland, if indeed that is what caused the project to fall apart?
