24-hour comedy marathon to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank on April 6

Boston University’s funniest comedy group 2012-2013 winner Liquid Fun will host its 8th Annual 24 Hour Comedy Marathon on Saturday, April 6 at 8:oo p.m. in BU Central (775 Commonwealth Ave, Boston).

The Marathon will consist of 24 hours of non-stop improvisational, sketch and stand-up comedy from ImprovBoston, Improv Asylum, more than nine colleges, two high schools and independent performers. This year’s event will include “Jam Sessions,” where performers from different groups and rival theaters will have the opportunity to perform together, as well as themed hours, including “DRAGprov” and “Ammunition Hour”. These jams provide a truly unique moment of collaboration among performers in the Boston comedy scene that will be a real treat. There will also be chances throughout the night for audience members to win prizes from local businesses. All proceeds from the Marathon will go to the Greater Boston Food Bank. There is a suggested donation of $5 for BU students and Liquid Fun Alums, and a $5 ticket fee for non-BU students for access to 24 hours of shows. The $5 charge is a great deal since it provides access to twenty different shows including 10 shows that typically charge $10-$18 each.

For more details on the Marathon and purchasing tickets, visit www.LIQUIDFUNMARATHON.com, Liquid Fun’s Facebook and on Twitter (@liquidfun, #LFMarathon). The Liquid Fun 24 Hour Comedy Marathon is not sponsored or produced by any participating theater including ImprovBoston or Improv Asylum.
