"22 Jump Street" is scheduled for release in the U.S. and Canada on June 13, 2014.
The plot of the movie was shrouded in secrecy until the trailer premiered. In "22 Jump Street," mismatched undercover cops Jenko (played by Channing Tatum) and Schmidt (played by Jonah Hill) have left their undercover work in high school and have now gone undercover as college students.
The title of the movie is also explained in the trailer, since it shows that Jenko and Schmidt's workplace has relocated to 22 Jump Street, after the converted church at 21 Jump Street was bought back by its previous owners.
Also returning for the "22 Jump Street" sequel are actors Ice Cube, Nick Offerman, Dave Franco and Rob Riggle, although Franco and Riggle look like they have cameos, not full-fledged roles in the movie.
"21 Jump Street" was one of the biggest comedy films of 2012. According to Box Office Mojo, the movie had more than $138 million in ticket sales in the U.S. and Canada.
According to Rentrak, "21 Jump Street" was the No. 1 movie on VOD in 2012.
