22-inch man trying to get into Guinness World Records as shortest man

According to a  report on AOL News, someone has come forth claiming to be the shortest man in the world.

As of now the shortest man in the world in the Guinness World Records is Junrey Balawing of the Philippines who is 23.5 inches (60 centimeters) tall.

However, there is someone shorter who wants the title.

Chandra Bahadur Dangi is a 72-year-old man from western Nepal who is hoping to prove to Guinness World Records that he is the world's shortest man.

Dangi claims to be only 22 inches (56 centimeters) tall. That seems to be 1.5 inches (4 centimeters) shorter than the current record holder in Guinness World Records.

Of course, Guinness officials would have to take their own measurement to validate this before officially giving Dangi the title and dethroning Balawing.

Before Balawing took over the title in June 2011 on his 18th birthday, another Nepalese man, Khagendra Thapa Magar, was known as the world's shortest man, at 26.4 inches (67 centimeters).

Needless to say, all three men are short by anybody's measurements and deserve the title.
