21 policemen shot: Officials say 21 victims shot and killed were policemen

According to recent media reports, 21 Pakistani tribal policemen were shot to death. The body of the victims was found on Sunday and authorities believe the officers were kidnapped and then shot to death by the terrorist group, the Taliban.

The bodies of the 21 policemen shot were found around midnight in Peshawar after one of the policemen managed to flee and then notified authorities, says a statement given by a top political official. Another officer was also found with serious life-threatening injuries.

Twenty-three policemen went missing shortly before dawn Thursday, after heavily-armed militants ambused two of the posts in the region.

The suspected Taliban militants forced the officers to line up on a field Saturday night and then proceeded to gun them down, said a local official who wished to remain anonymous.

Although the Taliban has not stepped forward to claim the attack as their own, it is widely believed that they are indeed the killers.

This incident is not the only act of terrorism to happen over the weekend. An explosion in Karachi demolished a bus that was at a terminal on Saturday.
