Well, “21 Jump Street” fans – Columbia Pictures has decided to move forward with a sequel.
The “21 Jump Street 2” action comedy film will include Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum on the bill, of course.
Columbia realized they had a sure fire thing with “21 Jump Street” as writers Michael Bacall and Jonah Hill began the original script. The script for the sequel “21 Jump Street 2” was being written in February before the first film ever opened.
The comedy film earned $197 million worldwide and definitely screamed, “sequel!” Hill made a statement as production schedules are written out:
We’re shooting a year from September and Michael Bacall and I are writing it now.
With the script being written and if Hill’s statement of filming beginning in September of 2013, we should have a “21 Jump Street 2” sequel in 2014. Currently, Hill is ready to begin filming Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” and Tatum has his hands full with the action thriller, “White House Down.”
