21 Degrees has pushed back the expected date of the opening of their new store to January 2013, according to an e-mail sent to customers earlier this week The move was quietly announced late in 2012 with the hope that the move would be completed by the end of the year.
"The bar front is going in today, flooring and granite will be done this week," owners Pat & Linda Mitchell said in an e-mail on Monday. They had hoped to have the move completed by the end of December, but unspecified delays pushed the date back a bit.
The store's new location will be at 9375 E. Shea Blvd., Suite C-100, a move that takes them about three miles south and onto a different side of an already competitive cigar store landscape. One new addition that the Mitchells are banking on to help them compete with the other stores in the greater Scottsdale Airpark area is the addition of a beer and wine bar.
Their current store, at 14144 N 100th Street in Scottsdale, remains open through the build-out of their new location. The Mitchells are promising several moving specials during the transition to the new store.
