West Palm Beach area residents should mark their calendars for a trip north to Orlando to celebrate Spring. March 6 - May 19, 2013 brings the 20th annual Epcot® International Flower & Garden Festival presented by HGTV to Epcot. It is a beautiful time to visit Epcot and experience hands-on activities for all ages; how-to seminars from expert gardeners and Disney's own team of master horticulturists; HGTV celebrity designers and famous bands will hit the stage to perform on the weekends, the schedule will be announced shortly.
If you have never been to Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival you are in for a wonderful surprise. In addition to the how-to seminars, gardening tips and demonstrations by Disney horticulturists and industry experts and other events the park is filled with amazing gardens and topiaries of your favorite characters, children's play areas and activities. This year they will have a Land of Oz Garden and children's play area based on new film "Oz the Great and Powerful". You will also see some dramatic lighting not seen before so you can continue to enjoy the gardens after dark.
No festival is complete without food! Epcot has you covered with a dozen new garden marketplaces with dishes and drinks inspired by the Garden and Outdoor Living, such as:
- The Smokehouse: Barbecue and Brews will feature Beef Brisket with Collard Greens and Jalapeno Corn Bread.
- The Florida Fresh Marketplace will feature Shrimp and Stone Ground Grits with Andouille Sausage, Zellwood Corn, Tomatoes and Cilantro.
- The Fruit by the Glass Marketplace will feature Blueberry Blue Wine from Florida and Gluten-free Raspberry Ale.
