2014 Winter Olympics preview Day 13 Canadian edition

At the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Christopher del Bosco of Montreal was securely in the bronze medal position when he went all out for the gold medal. Del Bosco fell and unfortunately for Canadian sports fans, did not even medal. Del Bosco, along with his teammates, Brady Leman of Calgary and David Duncan of London, Ontario are all serious medal threats in the men's ski cross at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi on Thursday. According to Brian Cazeneuve of Sports Illustrated, a Canadian sweep is possible (CBC, 12:30 a.m.).

Canada has another chance for a podium spot in freestyle skiing in the women's halfpipe. Calgary's Rosalind Groenewoud's path to the Olympic Winter Games is similar to slopestyle skier Kaya Turski. Both had serious injuries in the last couple of months, but came back with the vengeance and each won a medal at the Winter X Games. Groenewoud, known as Roz G, meanwhile will try and write a different Olympic script than Turski and help Canada reach 20 medals at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi (Sportsnet, 7:30 a.m.).

Canada meanwhile will also try and get to the top of the podium in women's hockey where they will play the United States (CBC, 10:00 a.m.) and in women's curling where they will play Sweden (CBC, 6:30 a.m.).

Here are the events that will be decided on Thursday with my pre-Olympic predictions:

Gold--Victor Oehling Norberg--Sweden

Bronze--Jouni Pellinen--Finland
