Day 10 of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi is now complete, and there are new leaders yet again atop the updated medal standings. The host Russian Federation and the United States have moved up into first place with 18 total medals a piece after all of the action and final events that took place on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.

The Netherlands didn't medal on Monday, but stayed right behind the leaders with 17 overall medals. Norway and Canada are right behind them with 15 each.

Germany continues to be the only other country with double-digit medals as they have won 13 with eight of those being gold.

Some of the highlights from the 10th day of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi:

  • Lots and lots of fog hindered a lot of Olympians and even postponed a number of events as visibility was near zero at the beginning of the day.
  • Russia won gold in the two-man bobsled event while the Jamaican bobsled team finished in last place.
  • Darya Domracheva of Belarus won gold in the biathlon.
  • Meryl Davis and Charlie White won the first ever ice dancing gold for the Americans.

This is yet another day in which no new countries ended up taking a medal. It has been four days in a row where 26 countries have won a medal without anyone stepping onto the podium.

Remember that Sochi is nine hours ahead of the Eastern time zone for the United States. That means the day's events are officially completed, but won't be shown until prime time television for America.

Below is a small legend showing the meaning of each letter in the medal count standings below and for each country. If a particular medal has not been won yet, it is left out.
