Joe Gibbs Racing driver Matt Kenseth starts eighth in Sunday’s Cheez-It 355 at The Glen after knock-out qualifying on the New York road course. His JGR teammates Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch will also start in the top 20 on Sunday.
Kenseth qualified the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota Camry at a speed of 128.179 mph (68.810 seconds) in the final round of knock-out qualifying Saturday. The pole for the race went to Jeff Gordon (129.466 mph/68.126 seconds), with Marcos Ambrose starting on the outside pole (129.138 mph/68.299 seconds).
Hamlin starts the No. 11 FedEx Ground Toyota from the 17th position after a qualifying lap of 127.782 mph (69.024 seconds), while Busch starts the No. 18 M&Ms Toyota right behind Hamlin in the 19th position after his fast lap of 127.575 mph (69.136 seconds).
The Cheez-It 355 at The Glen goes green Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
All three JGR drivers start in the top 15 in Saturday’s Zippo 200 at The Glen for the Nationwide Series. Busch starts third in the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry after a lap of 123.729 mph (71.285 seconds). Brad Keselowski (124.194 mph/71.018 seconds) and Joey Logano (124.056 mph/71.097 seconds) make up the front row.
Kenseth will start 10th in the No. 20 Reser’s Toyota after a lap of 122.196 mph (72.179 seconds), while Elliott Sadler starts 14th in the No. 11 OneMain Financial Toyota with a fast lap of 122.105 mph (72.233 seconds).
The Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at The Glen goes green Saturday at 2:15 p.m. ET.
