Located in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, Pocono Raceway is situated near the beautiful Pocono Mountains. The unique 2.5-mile track goes by the nickname "The Tricky Triangle," thanks to its three turns modeled after other tracks around the country.
Turn One at Pocono (14 degrees) is modeled after the former Trenton Speedway on the New Jersey State Fairgrounds, while Turn Two (9 degrees) is modeled after famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Turn Three (6 degrees) is modeled after the Milwaukee Mile. None of the turns are the same, and none of the straightaways are the same – "tricky" indeed, when it comes to setting up the car.
The Sprint Cup Series, along with the ARCA Racing Series, returns to the 2.5-mile tri-oval June 6th through 8th, and the Cup and ARCA Series are joined by the Camping World Truck Series August 1st through 3rd, while the IndyCar Series returns for the second year July 5th and 6th. The track also announced that it will host the inaugural Tough Mudder Poconos on April 19th and 20th and their third Warrior Dash on August 23rd.
Tickets are available for all three race weekends at www.poconoraceway.com, as are pit/paddock passes and passes for the "Tricky Triangle Club."
