Located in the Irish Hills, Michigan International Speedway is a 2-mile "d-shaped" oval in Brooklyn, Michigan. Opened in 1968, MIS hosted its first NASCAR race in 1969, and has a seating capacity of over 100,000 after expansion in 2000.
Situated behind the main grandstand, the Fan Plaza is 26-acres of off-track racing fun for families. The area features souvenir haulers featuring your favorite drivers, as well as vendor displays, food and beverage concessions, and the Kids Zone, where kids will find bounce houses, rock walls, and obstacle courses.
There are two NASCAR weekends on the 2014 schedule at MIS: the Quicken Loans 400 weekend, June 13th through 15th, featuring the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series along with the ARCA Racing Series; and the Pure Michigan 400 weekend, August 15th through 17th, featuring the Sprint Cup and Camping World Truck Series. 2014 tickets are not yet on sale – visit www.mispeedway.com for more information and to find out when you can purchase tickets.
