Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, formerly known as Indianapolis Raceway Park, is the home of USAC, ARCA and NHRA races each season. Built in 1958, the facility is home to a quarter-mile drag strip and a 0.686-mile oval, as well as a 2.5-mile road course.
The facility’s drag strip is incorporated into the straightaway of the road course, and hosts the prestigious Labor Day weekend Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals. The oval track hosts the USAC Silver Crown and Midget Series as well as the ARCA Racing Series during NASCAR’s Brickyard 400 weekend, and the road course hosts SCCA events.
The main events scheduled in 2014 on the oval include the USAC Midget “Night Before the 500” race on Saturday, May 24th, which also features Pro Mazda and USF2000. Also on the schedule: the pre-Brickyard 400 running of the USAC Midget and Silver Crown Series on Thursday, July 24th, followed by the ARCA race on Friday, July 25th. The main event for the drag strip is the 60th running of the Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals, Thursday through Monday, August 27th through September 1st. Tickets for the “Night Before the 500” are on sale now, while tickets for the other USAC, ARCA and NHRA events will be available soon at www.lucasoilraceway.com.
