The newest track on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule is Kentucky Speedway, located in Sprata, Kentucky (near Lexington). The 1.5-mile tri-oval opened in 2000 and also hosts NASCAR’s Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series, plus the ARCA Racing Series; in the past, it also hosted the IZOD IndyCar Series and the Firestone Indy Lights Series. Owned by Bruton Smith and Speedway Motorsports, Inc., Kentucky Speedway seats more than 100,000 spectators.
The 2014 schedule includes two main race weekends: Friday through Sunday, June 26th through 28th featuring NASCAR’s top three series – Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series – and Friday and Saturday, September 19th and 20th, featuring the ARCA Racing Series and Nationwide Series.
Season ticket plans and June weekend plans are on sale now at www.kentuckyspeedway.com; season ticket plans include all five races on the schedule and start at $169, while June weekend plans include three days of racing and start at $115.
