One of the newest tracks on the NASCAR circuit, Kansas Speedway opened in 2001. Located in Kansas City, Kansas, the 1.5-mile tri-oval seats over 72,000 spectators. The facility also includes a recently completed road course in the infield.
Kansas Speedway currently hosts the top three NASCAR series (Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Trucks) as well as the ARCA Racing Series and International Motor Sports Associatoion (IMSA) Road Racing on its recently-added road course. In its short history, it has also hosted the IZOD IndyCar Series, the Firestone Indy Lights Series, and the USAC Silver Crown Series. 2014 marks the first night races at Kansas during the first NASCAR weekend.
The Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway opened in February 2012. The casino and hotel complex is located at Turn Two and will feature slots and table games, as well as a variety of restaurants and entertainment options.
The 2014 schedule at Kansas Speedway features the Camping World Truck Series and Sprint Cup Series on May 8th through 10th; the IMSA event on June 7th featuring the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, Cooper Tire Prototype Lights and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge; and the ARCA Racing Series, Nationwide Series, and Cup Series October 3rd through 5th (the October 3rd ARCA Racing Series race will be its season finale).
