Chicagoland Speedway, located in Joliet, Illinois, opened in 2001. It currently hosts NASCAR top three series – Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Trucks – and the ARCA Racing Series, and is adjacent to Route 66 Raceway, a quarter-mile drag strip that hosts the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
Chicagoland Speedway hosted the IZOD IndyCar Series through 2010, and is the site of the closest finish in IndyCar history; the track also hosted the IROC Series in 2002 and 2003. The speedway is owned by International Speedway Corporation.
The 2014 Chicagoland Speedway schedule includes the Nationwide Series and ARCA Racing Series events on Saturday, July 19th, and the NASCAR weekend that kicks off the Chase for the Sprint Cup, September 12th through 14th; the Chase weekend features all three of NASCAR’s top series: Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series.
Tickets for the 2014 season will go on sale Sunday, February 23rd – the same day as the Cup Series’ season-opening Daytona 500. Visit www.chicagolandspeedway.com for complete details.
