Formerly known as California Speedway, Auto Club Speedway is a two-mile "d-shaped" oval in Fontana, California. Opened in 1997, the facility also includes Auto Club Dragway, a quarter-mile drag strip built in 2001 (not to be confused with Auto Club Raceway at Pomona), as well as interior road course circuits.
Thanks to its location, there is something going on every month of the year, focusing heavily on racing schools. In late March, however, NASCAR invades the Speedway, with the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series in action.
The 2014 NASCAR race weekend is Friday through Sunday, March 21st through 23rd. General admission passes for Friday qualifying are $20, and tickets for Saturday's Nationwide Series 300-mile race are $30 (general admission) and $50 (reserved seating). Tickets for Sunday’s Auto Club 400 Sprint Cup Series race range in price from $35 to $105.
