2014 Swiss Wine Festival in Vevay

Take a "grape escape" day trip to the Annual Swiss Wine Festival in Vevay, Indiana. Vevay is a popular destination for Indianapolis locals, it is south of Indianapolis, located on the Ohio River and about a 2 hour drive. The festival will take place from Thursday, August 21 through Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the Ogle Riverfront Park.

There will be lots to do at the Swiss Wine Festival as many events are being planned and everyone can expect a fun filled, relaxing day.

Admission to Wine Pavilion is $15.00 per person and includes wine samples and souvenir glass. The Wine Pavilion is open on Friday, 3PM to 10PM, Saturday from 11AM to 10PM, and on Sunday from 12PM until 5PM. It will not be open on the Thursday of the festival.

Festival-goers can relive 19th Century travel, as well as revel in modern day pleasure, with a relaxing cruise on the majestic Ohio River. Enjoy breathtaking scenery with a choice of a daytime excursion, a dinner cruise at dusk or the excitement of a Saturday night fireworks extravaganza. Experience the thrill of a Lock & Dam cruise. The cruises are available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The grape stomping should prove fun for everyone as Co-Sponsors Main Source Bank and Cowboy Food Stores invite you to participate in the laughs, purple feet and red faces of the Swiss Wine Festival's "Grape Escape" Grape Stomp. For over 40 years the Grape Stomp has provoked participants to forfeit both dignity and shoes for a romping, stomping good time.

The kids will have a great time on the amusement rides or watching many of shows. There is so much to do at the Swiss Wine Festival including the beer gardens, live entertainment, grape stomping, parade, fireworks, polka dancing and the list goes on.
