Race No. 4 on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series schedule is the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, taking place Friday through Sunday, March 28th through 30th. Tony Schumacher (Top Fuel), Cruz Pedregon (Funny Car) and Allen Johnson (Pro Stock) went to the winner’s circle in 2013, and all three stars will return to defend their titles this weekend. The Pro Stock drivers will have another race on their hands this weekend, in the form of the K&N Horsepower Challenge.

There will be a free driver question-and-answer and autograph session on Thursday, March 27th from 5 to 7 p.m. PT at New York New York Hotel & Casino. Fans must be in line for the autograph session by 5:30 p.m. PT to guarantee autographs, and the first 200 fans in line will receive a free Summit Racing hat. Drivers scheduled to participate at this time include: Tony Schumacher, Ron Capps, Antron Brown, Jack Beckman, Jason Line, Shawn Langdon, Spencer Massey, Tommy Johnson Jr., Jimmy Alund, Clay Millican, Matt Hagan, Erica Enders-Stevens, Terry McMillen, Rodger Brogdon and Allen Johnson (subject to change).

Allen Johnson is the No. 1 seed for the K&N Horsepower Challenge, as the special event takes place Saturday, March 29th. The Challenge showcases eight top Pro Stock teams in a race-within-a-race bonus event, seven of which qualified during a 24-race span from the 2013 SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas, through the 2014 Amalie Motor Oil NHRA GatorNationals at Auto-Plus Raceway at Gainesville in Florida. The eighth driver, David Connolly, was selected via a special fan vote on the K&N website. A purse of $76,000 is available for the eight drivers competing in the Challenge, with the winner earning $50,000; the runner-up will earn $10,000, the two semifinalists $3,000 each, and the four first-round finishers $2,500 apiece. K&N Horsepower Challenge rounds are scheduled for 1 p.m., 3:45 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. PT on March 29th.

Pro qualifying for the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals gets underway Friday at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. PT, continuing Saturday at 1:10 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. PT. Final eliminations begin Sunday at 11 a.m. PT.
