The 2014 WSU spring gardening classes are about to start! They are running two series this year; both series run through the same time period, Saturdays from March 15, 2014 through April 5, 2014, but at different hours, making it easy to take both series if you want.
The first series, Beginning Gardening Classes, runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This series has an overview of basic gardening techniques. There are four classes in the series:
March 15, 2014 - Soils & Basic Gardening Practices
March 22, 2014 – Growing the Right Vegetables
March 29, 2014 – Berries and Small Fruits
April 5, 2014 – Growing Easy Flowers
Each class taken separately is $12 per person; if you sign up for the entire series it costs $44 for a $4 savings.
The second series is Grow Your Own Food and it runs from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This series concentrates specifically on food growing techniques. Like the first series, there are four classes:
March 5, 2014 – Raised Beds
March 22, 2014 – Growing Tomatoes from Seed to Harvest
March 29, 2014 – Growing and Preserving Culinary Herbs
April 5, 2014 – Vegetables for the Inland Northwest
As with the first series, classes are $12 each or $44 for the four class series.
If you prefer to pay by check or money order, you can download the class fliers (which have details about the classes) at Beginning Gardening Classes or Grow Your Own Food You can print the registration forms and mail them in. Pre-registration is highly recommended as there are limited spaces and they fill up quickly.
