2014 Spring sports season opens with postponements

Potentially frightful weather as well as wet field conditions have forced early postponements in the first week of the spring sports season.

The Holy Angels baseball team season opener on Thursday against Chaska has been postponed and rescheduled for Monday, April 14. Game time is 4:30. Also, the girls softball opener at Chaska on Thursday has been postponed until Tuesday, April 8.

Over in St. Louis Park, a baseball doubleheader at Armstrong with the Orioles facing the Minneapolis South Tigers in the first game and the host Falcons in the second has been postponed. No rescheduled date has been set.

The good news in the weather department for next week is that temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s. Will fields be ready for not just St. Louis Park and Holy Angels but for other schools around the Twin Cities as they try to begin spring sports?
