Joe Gibbs Racing driver Kyle Busch took the pole for Friday night’s Nationwide Series VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200 at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. His JGR teammates Matt Kenseth and Elliott Sadler also qualified in the top 10 for the race.
Busch qualified the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry at a speed of 173.681 mph (28.314 seconds), ahead of Chase Elliott’s No. 9 NAPA Chevrolet Camaro at 173.448 mph (28.352 seconds), who starts on the outside pole. Kenseth starts third (173.106 mph/28.408 seconds) in the No. 20 GameStop Toyota, next to Kevin Harvick in fourth (171.662 mph/28.647 seconds). Sadler starts ninth in the No. 11 Sport Clips Toyota (170.283 mph/28.879 seconds).

Busch led JGR in qualifying for Saturday night’s Bojangles’ Southern 500, qualifying eighth in the No. 18 M&Ms Toyota Camry at a speed of 181.763 mph (27.055 seconds). Kevin Harvick won the pole for the race with a speed of 183.479 mph (26.802 seconds) in the No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet SS, with former JGR driver Joey Logano taking the outside pole after a lap of 183.049 mph (26.865 seconds) in knock-out qualifying.
Denny Hamlin qualified 10th in the No. 11 Sport Clips Toyota (181.548 mph/27.087 seconds), while Kenseth qualified 25th in the No. 20 Home Depot/Husky Toyota (182.059 mph/27.011 seconds).
