According to Vic Rauter of TSN on Monday, the 2014 Scott Tournament of Hearts (the Canadian women's curling championship) is taking place this week at the Maurice Richard Arena in Montreal.

The arena has a great Olympic legacy because it was host to boxing and wrestling during the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.

It was at the Maurice Richard Arena where Sugar Ray Leonard of the United States won a gold medal in men's light welterweight boxing, American Leon Spinks won the light heavyweight division and Cuban legend Teofilo Stevenson won gold in the heavyweight division.

As for the curling this week, defending champion Rachel Homan of Ottawa is in first place with a perfect record of 4-0. The best curling team in Canada is not at the 2014 Scotties Tournament of Hearts however because Jennifer Jones's curling team will be competing at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. The women's curling competition starts next Monday.
